Kaikoura District Council Civic Building

TM Consultants were engaged to provide bespoke HVAC solutions for this passive building.

Almost all solid timber, the mechanical design needed to reflect the natural look and feel of the building and be unobtrusive as possible.

Completed in 2016, this building was modeled allowing the HVAC equipment to be correctly sized saving valuable CapEx and weight from the final construction.

It successfully withstood the Kaikoura earthquakes and was used as the civil defence hub.
