TMCo completed thermal modelling reporting for this development. The detailed thermal model uncovered several areas where typical large department store heating systems are inadequate. The modelling calculated heat loads, internal gains, movement of people with the internal air currents to provide a number of energy saving initiatives. The potential improvements were able to save more than $75,000 in energy per year and helped re-write Kmart’s Australian based standard requirements for Invercargill’s climate. TMCo also completed the hydraulic and seismic design for this project.
